Bad people, and some good people who give in to temptation, take things that don't belong to them and hurt others with their thoughtlessness, but sooner or later the bill comes due. The clever liar discovers that no one believes him. The adulterer learns that by choosing casual sex, he has lost out on true love. The violent criminal, even if he avoids prison, comes to live in constant fear of others as violent as he is.
