The good news of grace announces that the cell door has been thrown open so hard its hinges have broken. God does not condemn us, which makes condemnation from others (including ourselves) completely meaningless, if not nonsensical. God has set us free! Now, this freedom might threaten us, might make us afraid of leaving the familiar, might force us to adopt a new self-image.

But to be a free person! Our world suddenly becomes spacious, enabling us to stand us straight and breathe deeply and walk (or run!) forward into the life we were created to enjoy. Condemnation constricts, grace liberates.
