We step out into cyberspace with a sense of freedom and trustfulness and even joy, and we can invite the Spirit to come along for the ride. I had the sense almost from my first baby step on the 'Net that there is serendipity out here, luck-fulness, accident, randomness, chaos, because this is a medium that none can really control. It's also a medium for playfulness. Wherever that freedom, that playfulness is possible, and we stop trying to own and manage the shop, there is the opportunity for grace. . . .

There is grace in this strange new world if we're willing to bring the Spirit with us. There is love — very real love — among people who have never set eyes on each other in the flesh. There is care and the sense of community.
