It matters what sacred story we choose to live in. As a Christian I believe that the great biblical saga of a good universe emerging from the heart of a good God, in which all challenges can be woven into a pattern for good, is the most profound story ever available for people facing difficulty and evil. The Gospel proclamation that grace can work through even the most death-dealing circumstance to bring new life can give a sense of purpose in the face of any suffering.
