Any attempt to work with a weakness must be approached intelligently and sensitively. Our choice of a weakness to address should be based on careful observation and self-knowledge. With this self-knowledge a real personal aim becomes possible; we have observed ourselves long enough to begin some specific work on the kind of people we habitually are. Aim can be too general, too difficult, or simply inappropriate. An aim should be specific and attainable, and it should be consistent with the general aim of the Work, which is awakening.
