To travel deep into consciousness through the practice of meditation you must have a huge desire, so huge it swallows up all your other desires. The onset of that desire is a sure mark of divine grace. Often it begins as a nagging, driving restlessness. To be content no longer with picking up what is floating on the surface of life, but to want only the pearls on the bottom of the sea: that is the touch of grace.
