Rabbi Nachman Kossover, a disciple of the Baal Shem Tov, was speaking to some Hasidim who he saw were failing to fulfill "I have placed the Lord before me always" when they were engaged in their livelihood, in commerce, and business dealings. They asked him how it is possible to think about God at that time. He answered that just as they were well able to think of their business dealings while they were supposed to be praying, so could they fulfill "I have placed the Lord before me always" when they were engaged in business.
