I have known quite a number of people gifted with healing touch who have become ill themselves with the same illnesses they helped heal. It is not that they were trying to take over the role of the ultimate healer. They were very humble people and ascribed the healing to God. But I think they did not realize how much they were carrying the pain and problems of others around in their own bodies and spirits. I don't think they realized either how many people had fastened onto their own energy fields and drank from them, as if they were the healing source.
