The ripening of Torah is ongoing. In the Bible, Isaiah hears God announcing a new revelation: "A Torah will come forth from Me." Jeremiah, too, hears God describe a new covenant: "I will place My Torah in their inmost being and write it upon their hearts." This new-ancient Torah, this Torah of the heart, is not reserved for some far-off messianic date. Constantly unfolding and as dynamic as the cosmos, it will never be completely spelled out, written on paper or scratched on parchment. It's too alive.
