In the case of homosexuals they must live with a contradiction: their inner being says something is natural and right; society says it is wrong. To survive they must learn to trust their intuition, their embodied knowledge. Like all those who are gender nonconformists they develop a "third eye" that scans their social environment in a kind of continuous social analysis. The gifts of insight and embodied knowledge are a positive and sustaining contribution to the social order.
