There is no mediocrity of soul. The two terms do not converge. They come from different territories: "Soul" is singular and specific; "mediocrity" sizes you up according to social statistics — norms, curves, data, comparisons. You may be found mediocre in every sociological category, even in your personal aspirations and achievement, but the manner in which this social mediocrity appears will throw a unique spike into any bell curve. No size fits all.
