Wherever they can be found, the "winged ones" are quick and close inspectors of their surroundings as well as masters of the earth's atmosphere and its great distances. Earth born, sky borne, the birds carry space and time upon their wings. They have an enviable inner sense of weather changes, and their lives and ceremonies are disciplined by the seasons. There could be no better guides to "a sense of place."
