Biography

Thomas Moore is a writer, lecturer, and psychotherapist who lives in New England with his wife and two children.

Moore lived as a monk in a Catholic religious order for twelve years. He has a Ph.D. in religious studies from Syracuse University, an M.A. in theology from the University of Windsor, an M.A. in musicology from the University of Michigan, and a B.A. in music and philosophy from DePaul University.

He is a leading lecturer in the fields of archetypal psychology, mythology, and imagination. A prolific writer and editor, and a generous supporter of other spiritual writers through endorsements and forewords, he is a columnist for Spirituality & Health magazine and Beliefnet. He is perhaps best-known as the author of a series of bestselling books on the sacred art of soulful living.
