“If my miles of spinning were walking, I feel, after a month, like I have hiked the Pacific Crest Trail. I’ve worked through multiple pounds of top, and my consistency is infinitely better. I continue to marvel at the wonder of this fuzz turning to thread between my fingers — I would happily stop this project right here and spin endlessly, though I don’t know what I’d do with the result. Give it to a king, perhaps. I do find that when my hands spin, my mind does not: the task is meditative and soothing, an excellent distraction at a difficult time.”
