This classic children's picture book was originally published in 1962, and in 1998, the author Tom Ungerer was awarded the Hans Christian Andersen Award for illustration. Since then he has opened a museum devoted exclusively to his work. Ungerer is also the subject of a recent documentary Far Out Isn't Far Enough.

Snail, Where Are You? challenges girls and boys to find the simple shape of a snail in waves, a violin, a harp, a ram's horn, a trombone, and other places. This treasure hunt makes for jolly good fun given the playfulness of Ungerer's illustrations.
