This is a succinct and edifying look at the life and work of this 17th century English mystic, pastor, and poet. The author probes his sacramental vision of reality, his celebration of the "wonders and delights" of creation, and his theology of praise. Although overshadowed by his poetic predecessors John Donne and George Herbert, Traherne speaks more keenly to our times with his ability to stir our hearts and minds with explications of the activity of God in the commonplaces of our lives.
