"There are many people who can do big things but there are very few people who will do the small things" nicely sums up the life and work of Mother Teresa who recently died. Love and grace come into the world on our little acts of kindness and concern-a visit to a bedridden friend, a helping hand to a blind person at an intersection, giving up one's seat on public transportation for a pregnant woman. "Be faithful in little things, for in them our strength lies," Mother Teresa once noted.

This text is filled with the Catholic nun's spirit and compassion. How was she able to accomplish so much? The spiritual practices of joy and silence were resources that energized her soul. She saw herself as an emissary of God's love: "God loves the world through you and through me." Some of her favorite stories are included in this volume including ones on opening the heart, noticing beauty in others, giving freely, and seeing Jesus in the distressing disguise of suffering individuals.
