Sri Chinmoy is a twentieth century mystic who has been teaching about God, meditation, and meaning in America since 1964. His spirituality is also expressed in music, art, poetry, and other writings. This book brings together Sri Chinmoy's perspective on the relationship between human beings and the source of life. "Divine love," he writes, "tells us that our life is infinitely more important than we imagine." And more, "the purpose of life is to become a conscious instrument, a chosen instrument of God." Under this rubric, the people we relate to on a daily basis and even strangers are also reflections of the divine.

"Meditation," according to Sri Chinmoy is "the language of God." Once we are attuned to this reality, we can begin to feel God's presence in everything around us. Throughout this book, the author answers questions and writes poetic reflections on God's compassion, forgiveness, and playfulness.
