Opening Prayer and Thanksgiving

You are the love
of each living creature O God
You are the warmth
of the rising sun
You are the whiteness
of the moon at night
You are the life
of the growing earth
You are the strength
of the waves of the sea.
Speak to me this night O God
Speak to me your truth.
Dwell with me this night O God
Dwell with me in love.

Prayer of Awareness

Light within all light
Soul behind all souls
at the breaking of dawn
at the coming of day
we wait and watch.
Your Light within the morning light
Your Soul within the human soul
Your Presence beckoning to us from the heart of life.
In the dawning of this day
let us know fresh shinings in our soul.
In the growing colours of new beginning all around us
let us know the first lights of our heart.
Great Star of the morning
Inner flame of the universe
let us be a colour in this new dawning.

The Blessings of Jesus

Blessed are those who know their need
for theirs is the grace of heaven.

Blessed are those who weep
for their tears will be wiped away.

Blessed are the humble
for they are close to the sacred earth.

Blessed are those who hunger for earth's oneness
for they will be satisfied.

Blessed are the forgiving
for they are free.

Blessed are the clear in heart
for they see the Living Presence.

Blessed are the peacemakers
for they are born of God.

Prayer for the Life of the World

May our enemy become our friend, O God,
that we may share earth's goodness.
May our enemy become our friend, O God,
that our children may meet and marry.
May our enemy become our friend, O God,
that we may remember our shared birth in you.
May we grow in grace
may we grow in gratitude
may we grow in wisdom
that our enemy may become our friend.

Closing Prayer

The rhythm of life is yours, O God,
the changing of the seasons,
the busyness of the day and the night's stillness,
youth's energy and age's measured pace.
For daylight followed by hours of darkness,
for the time of letting go
and of taking off the clothes of the day,
for the time of lying down
and being covered by the night's intimacy,
for the overlapping of the seen and the unseen,
heaven and earth,
flesh and angels,
body and spirit,
rest and dying and new life
all part of your rhythm, O God, thanks be to you.
