The path of community.

In our isolated modern society everyone hungers for community. Sufism is very much a communal path. One of the central practices is the weekly dhikr, or remembrance ceremony. The dervishes chant, sing and encourage one another. They also teach each other, often as much as the sheikh teaches them. The Koran says that the believer is the mirror of the believer.
