Ordinary anger is akin to ice: a frozen set of mind, a fixed stance of irritable hostility; the pure energy before it has frozen into anger is akin to water. When an emotion like anger arises in our minds, advises Tsoknyi Rinpoche, "The energy behind the anger doesn't have to be rejected, just the concepts and thoughts that fuel it. They can be released while the energy is still present. Then the anger turns into mirror-like wisdom, a clear precision."
