One of the fundamental principles of chado applies directly to giving. It is called kokoro ire, or "inclusion of the heart's spirit." Just put your heart into what you do, the tea masters say. Don't serve tea out of a desire to impress others or because you seek something in return; serve them because you want to serve, with a sincere and humble heart.
