"Might makes right" is the real national anthem of a country with the power to impose it.

After years of Cold War, after decades of fear, after scores of treaties signed and treaties broken, after the global sigh of relief that came with the demise of the Soviet Union, the unthinkable has happened. Nuclear retaliation has been mentioned with seriousness as a possible U.S. strategy against aggression, and a Gallup Poll of public opinion released in December 2002 finds that over two-thirds of the U.S population approve of the first use of nuclear weapons in recrimination for assault. We have entered the madness of power in defiance of the theology of peace.
