Once a radiant figure appeared to young Teresa in a vision and asked, "Little one, what is your name?"
"Sir," she replied, "I am Teresa of Jesus" — meaning, "I don't belong to myself at all; I belong, completely to my Lord." Then, taking him to be an angel and plucking up her courage, Teresa asked, "And who may you be?"
The radiant figure must have been moved by this sweet reply, for he smiled and answered, "I am Jesus of Teresa."
