"I experience the beauty of silence. In silence, I find peace. I learn to listen. I wait for the voice of God. My wounds are healed. I become again my true self. I see myself as I am — a sinner, yes, but beloved by God as a son and a friend. In silence, I taste the banquet of heaven. I learn to breathe again, and breathing becomes significant. The world falls away, with all its noise and idolatry. Nature reveals herself because I am reduced to nothing. Then in that stillness, I hear creation praising God, and slowly, gently, without even knowing it, I join in. Life becomes a marvelous celebration, a great dance, a festival of peace. All worries, all fears, all anxieties, all violence fade away, and I enter the solitude of God. What a beautiful gift. We are all created for this peace. We are summoned to enter the house of God where the great celebration is taking place. The path to this feast is uphill and taken in silence."
