This five-hour audio resource on four CDs is based on Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy for Depression by Zindel Segal, Mark Williams, John Teasdale, and Jon Kabat-Zinn. They believe that Buddhist meditative practices can free people from depression and its relapses. In Session One they present an anatomy of this malaise with a look at feelings, thoughts, the body, and behavior. Cultivating awareness through mindfulness is a way out of the mental habits and patterns that lead to depression.

The rest of the material in this program enables listeners to develop a different relationship to thoughts, feelings, and bodily sensations. It also suggests ways to cultivate true aliveness and joy. A full CD of guided mindfulness meditations by Jon Kabat-Zinn is also included.
