In the Jewish tradition, mitzvah covers a variety of activities done by people who are animated by love, kindness, caring, and sharing. In It's a . . . It's a . . . It's a Mitzvah, Liz Suneby and Diane Heiman created a playful children's book about these practices for those ages three - six years old.

That's a Mitzvah is a board book for children aged one - four adapted from this earlier volume. A little band of animals respond to the question "What is a mitzvah?" by showing us such things as being nice to someone new, sharing food with others, forgiving someone who has made a mistake, giving back something that's been lost, visiting someone who is sick, helping people in need, showing family love, and enjoying Shabbat on Friday night. All the animals join together for the last definition: "A mitzvah is just what you'll find deep in your heart when you are kind."
