Tsem Rinpoche begins this selection of talks with a plea for us to practice real life Dharma: "to bring incredible harmony and love into our families and to every single person who comes into contact with us."

Of course, a big challenge is to be nice to people who are not nice to us. This path is the way we bring spirituality to others. To accomplish this feat, we must cultivate "calm abiding" which is a state of mind "that never moves from not wanting to inflict harm or engage in actions that inflict harm." If the urge to retaliate against a person who has treated us poorly remains strong in us, Tsem Rinpoche recommends working on it day by day.

Taking responsibility for our behavior is very important in our world where it is so easy to blame someone else for our difficulties.
