In this fourth movie in the Mission Impossible franchise, a IMF (Impossible Mission Force) agent is killed and Ethan Hunt (Tom Cruise), a seemingly invincible agent, escapes from a Moscow prison. His support team consists of Benji (Simon Pegg), a tech specialist; Jane Carter (Paula Patton), the girlfriend of the slain agent; and Brandt (Jeremy Renner), an analyst with information on everybody. Their skills and creativity are tested by a new assignment to capture Hendricks (Michael Nyqvist), a crazy fellow who is getting ready to destroy the world with a nuclear missile so he as the leader can oversee the evolution of a new humanity.

There are some adrenaline pumping scenes involving the bombing of the Kremlin, the climbing of the world's tallest building in Dubai with nothing more than high-tech suction gloves, a chase during a fierce dust storm, and a final hand-to-hand battle between Ethan and Hendricks. Director Brad Bird makes the most of these action sequences which are given even more dramatic punch by Lalo Schifrin's creative improvisations of the well-known Mission Impossible musical theme. The stunts in this movie are impressive, and it is a lark watching the repeated failures of high-tech tools that are supposed to work all the time. Tom Cruise is suitably intense and focused as the hero, and Simon Pegg, Paula Patton, and Jeremy Renner all shine as his formidable back-up team.

Special features on the Two-Disc Blu-ray/DVD combo include: "Mission Accepted"; "Impossible Missions"; deleted scenes; and an alternate opening.
