• The English poet Rupert Brooke once catalogued all the things he loved most in life. Among those on his list: "white plates and cups, clean-gleaming, ringed with blue lines; . . . wet roofs beneath the lamplight; . . . and hair that is shiny and free." Have members of your family or group make a list of ten things they love most. Give some of them a place of honor in a "Celebration of Life and Love."
  • "In a world so torn apart by rivalry, anger, and hatred, we have the privileged vocation to be living signs of a love that can bridge all divisions and heal all wounds," Henri J. M. Nouwen wrote of the Christian church. With your spiritual community, create a project which enables you to be signs of love in the world.
