Going face-to-face with cancer can be looked at as my blood sport. This coming together offers me a chance at a new role. Cancer, like the bull, is death, and I am defending myself, dancing with death, creating this beautiful aesthetic. The blood sports show that death is not defeat. Like Manolete my role is to make this a classic, frozen picture of the end passage of life.
