William Damon, a professor of psychology and chair of the education department at Clark University, presents an overview of the natural flourishing of morality during childhood years. He examines what he sees as core moral emotions such as empathy and justice. He then presents activities which parents can do in the home to spur moral deliberation by children. Best of all, he suggests youth be exposed to "moral mentors," individuals whose good deeds have made a difference in society.
