Reginald Ray is the author of five books and one of the most innovative and experienced teachers in the West, drawing on 40 years of study within the Tibetan tradition as well as practice in Zen and Theravadin Buddhism, Qigong, and indigenous cultures in Africa and the Americas. He teaches within the Chogyam Trungpa Rinpoche meditation lineage at Naropa University. Ray is the author of the book Touching Enlightenment and the Sounds True audio program Buddhist Tantra.

Your Breathing Body: Volume 1, a Sounds True Audio Learning Course, consists of 10 CDs. "Your breath can lead you to your own deepest self, your natural happiness and vitality, and your most complete sense of being truly at home in this world," says the author. Breathwork has been a part of many wisdom traditions, and Ray talks about these different perspectives. He demonstrates the foundational practice of "Ten Points" which includes letting go and relaxation. He presents earth-based exercises to expand awareness beyond the physical body, and he moves on to practices designed to release blocked energy and to tap into the breath's subtle dimensions.

Ray wants us to appreciate the breath as the gateway to healing and transformation. And so he probes the purpose of meditation, the soul as our unprecedented individuality, the spiritual journey of discovery, the price of practice, working with our chaos, embracing fear, and understanding that every mind state is workable.
