In this revealing documentary, filmmakers Josie Swantek Heitz and Dave Adams travel to northern Thailand to tell the harrowing story of Fon and Eye, two young girls whose parents sold them into the sex trade. The key person who provides all the details of this trafficking process is Mickey Choothesa, the founder of COSA, a nonprofit organization providing sanctuary for exploited and at-risk girls. Thanks to articles and online praise of his work, contributors have given generously to support his work.

Much to their shock and dismay, the filmmakers discover through interviews with the girls and their families that Choothesa fabricated stories about rescuing Fon and Eye from brothels and then misrepresented them and their poor families to donor groups around the world.

Here is a sad cautionary tale about the cruel and selfish exploitation of two very smart young girls by a greedy and deceitful entrepreneur. Let's hope that The Wrong Light convinces donors to do more research on individuals and organizations who claim to be working for the common good.
