This festival of eight films will be presented on Tuesdays in September and October 2016. The venue is the French Institute Alliance Francaise in New York City.

The films all focus on that moment when a girl finds herself on the verge of adulthood. From the New Wave to present day, this series puts a spotlight on young women who take charge of their destinies.

Identities, bodies, and desires are all in flux for these women, who willfully experiment with love and sexuality as they grapple with finding their place in the world. These new and classic French films smash the trope of the ingénue with captivating, vital portraits of girls who are anything but innocent.
