This breath prayer comes from an image used by W. A. Mathieu.

Breathing in: Make an altar . . .
Breathing out: of my ears.

A Blessing for Listening
May you be willing to listen to that still, small voice as you seek solace away from the clanging and clamor of incessant noise.
May the voice of love pierce you so that you may listen deeply with the ears of your heart.
May you obey what you hear, aligning your heart with the heart of God.
May you know the voice of your shepherd and may your shepherd know your voice so that when He calls, you will follow and when you call, He will answer.
May your listening be a practice of discernment and prayer that deepens your trust and affirms the truth that you hear.
May you set the intention to listen for the Divine’s voice in your own voice.
May you seek to speak less and listen more.
May you listen for what is not said.
May you practice listening to the wisdom of nature which has much to teach us.

Truth and Falsehood
O God, show me truth as truth and enable me to adhere to it;
and show me falsehood as falsehood and enable me to avoid it.
